Passion, a poem

Well, I'm a bit amused with myself. I have a wonderful crit partner who has an amazing ear for meter. Just amazing. While I write well, I can't always "hear" the beat. I can dance, but can't sing, and when I took a music class I sweat bullets just trying to clap out beat. It's like I have two left ears. All this to say, I STILL CAN GET IT SOMETIMES ALL BY MYSELF.
Here's an example. I wrote this poem a few years ago:

Passion

by Carole Brooks

When passion speaks in silent waves the ocean waters swell

And crashing on the sands of time, the heart knows when to tell

The drama of the dark, deep, sea where hidden treasures call

The owner to his ownership, beneath the crested wall.
