I just finished reading the most powerfully, poignant and deeply penetrating
book of a son's search for his father's life. THE OUTSIDER by Nathaniel Lachenmeyer
took my breath away. I was moved beyond composure and had to stop reading often.
I was compelled to read this unforgettable account of Nathaniel's journey. I applaud
him for his bravery, his masterful writing and the sincerity of his soul in sharing this
story with a world that sadly does not embrace his topic. May God have mercy on us
and show us the way.
I once wrote a poem called The Color of Choice that addresses Lachenmeyer's
topic, knowing full well that there are times and situations in life where choice is
not an option.
