I had the privilege of judging a small writing contest for K. Pluta, author of THERE'S A YAK IN MY BED and somehow, through that experience I have gained a deeper appreciation of what editors experience. I realize there is no big comparison, but for me it was revealing. There were NO rejections in my mind. I'm so sorry that term is even used. There are many good writers who take 'rejection' so hard; they personalize it and that is just wrong. I wish all writers could 'see it' differently. I'm grateful I do.

What a fantastic experience for you to have. It's a great reminder to us all that in the end, it's just business.

Oh those ones that take it personally or used to need to remember at the end of it all,
"Does it really matter?"
